One hundred and thirty plus swimmers participated last Sunday in the inaugural Oasis Otters & Boronia Swimming Club Sprint Meet at Ringwood Aquanation swimming pool. The first of it's kind in the history of the Boronia Swimming Club, and what a success!
The meet was well attended and fluid, with many state times recorded on the day, however this could not all be possible without all the volunteers working tirelessly behind the scene and during the event.
It is with great pleasure to especially thank the follow in making this event such a success, and hopefully the start of many future meets;
John Rutledge - Oasis Otters Swimming Director and Metro South East coordinator, for his tireless effort and knowledge making things work. And reassuring me that, "it will work it on the day". Thank you for sharing your experience and professionalism John, we learnt so much from you, and look forward working with you in the future.
Paul Brennan - Former BSC El Presdente come club sprint meet coordinator and MC, was the glue working with John and BSC committee to fulfill and complete task as required. Thanks for your patience Paul, we got there!
Virginia Jacobs - Caterer extraordinar. The lady knows her stuff, and how to keep officials and time keeps satisfied! I know everyone was overwhelmed with the catering and really appreciated the effort Virginia. Thanks again.
Gonzalo Niklitschek - Swimming director and exceptional Meet Manager whiz. The fluid like process of the meet was testament of Gonzalo's ability of control, order and attention to detail. Gonzalo, again big thank you for plugging away and keeping control of Meet Manager. Well Done!
Cara Frampton and the officials! - Without them, the Meet could not have run. Big thank you to these volunteers, whom do this service every weekend! Cara, please pass on our gratitude to the officials, and thanks them again for the "second chance qualifier".
I would like to extend a big thank you to all Oasis Otters and Boronia Swimming Club, parents and guardians for assisting with catering, medal presenting, timekeeping, marshaling, and finally, coaches for their encouragement and words of wisdom and advice to all the swimmers.
John, please pass on our appreciation and thanks to your committee members and volunteers to making such a great day, and looking forward to our next joint meet!
Thanks & regards,
